Intro
Mucknmacfest is an event with a difference. Its the brainchild of Cameron Balfour - cyclist, runner and owner of Outsider Events. The festival features two fantastic days of gravel riding across some of the most epic trails and roads the Scottish Borders has to offer. And it does all of this whilst blending in family entertainment with camping, live music and a brewery all situated within the event hub.
A former elite racing cyclist, Cameron also holds a degree in Events Management. Outsider Events was created from a love of the outdoors, bringing people together and having them leave the event with smile on their face. Many of our members can readily identify with that and it fits well with Scottish Adventure aim of enabling adventures and connecting the community. We are delighted to have Cameron and Outsider Events as business partner and look forward to collaborating with him further as he brings this and future adventure events to the calendar.

The Event Weekend
The event will be run over the weekend of 29th April / 1st May 2022. Both days riding start and finish at the Festival Village at Traquair House and each feature multiple Enduro-style timed stages.
Epic Gravel Riding
On the Friday night Red Bull will be staging an Outdoor Film Night - just to get us suitably excited and motivated about two days of Gravel riding in the Tweed Valley.
High Above the Tweed Valley
For those of us needing some "Dutch Courage" for two days of epic gravel riding, Traquair House has its own brewery and its located on site. Handy!
Traquair House Brewery
As the riding gets underway there will be kids activities hosted in the grounds of Traquair House. With Scavenger Hunts and Guided Forest School Workshops available there's lots to do outside and inside the house there are tours involving puzzles and games to keep the kids amused indoors.
Family Activities at Mucknmacfest
There will also be yoga classes on available on both days to help prepare you for a days riding and help recover afterwards
On the Saturday night there will be Live Music at the event village with an eclectic line up sure to satisfy all musical tastes. Again with Traquair Ales literally on tap, there will be ample chance to soak in the atmosphere and swap tall tales about the first days riding.
A spectacular event setting - Traquair House
And after all that, we'll get to get up and do it all over again! Brawsome!
